Built to support adult weight, the deck surfaces can bear up to 250 pounds and most rides up to 200 pounds (except plastic gliders). So parents, you can play along with your kids! All lumber is sanded to be splinter-free, with rounded corners and edges.
The weight-bearing frame of a vinyl clad wood playset is wood, just as for the wooden playsets. Unlike wooden playsets, however, virtually all wood components are covered in PVC vinyl sleeves, and some are replaced with poly lumber.
As your children grow, baby swings can be switched for belt swings or other bigger-kid accessories. At a later date, you can also add swing beams or other features to build out your play set to accommodate changing needs and budget planning.
All of our swing sets are manufactured in the Amish community of Lancaster PA.
A properly maintained pressure-treated wood play set will last at least fifteen to twenty years. A maintenance free vinyl set, however, can last at least 25-30 years or more! We like to tell our customers that they will last as long as your kids will use them, and probably even for the grandkids.
We normally need a foot wider than the width of your tower from the street back to where you’d like to place it; e.g., a 5’ wide tower will need a 6’ wide path. We will also need 8’ of clearance under any wires or tree branches.
Our swing sets come in a wide variety of sizes – however, many sets will fit inside a 20’ square area. Make sure you also have enough “run-off” room for the kids as they come off the slide, as well as plenty of room for them to swing.
If you use a high-quality watersealer, treatment every two to three years will keep your swing set looking new. We recommend Cabot brand stains, which are available at most home improvement stores.
Noble Kids playsets are extremely low maintenance. You can easily revitalize your playset’s appearance with a garden hose, glass cleaner, and soft brush to wash away dirt and debris.
For long lifetime and stability, we recommend preparing a foundation for your outdoor or DIY playhouse kit playhouse. It is important that the foundation is levelled (providing stability for the playhouse) and at minimum the size of the playhouse surface. The foundation does not have to have concrete footing. Concrete slabs, posts or light-weight construction blocks are perfectly fitting for foundation.
Drip edge is a long strip of metal flashing that is nailed to plywood, at the eaves (edges) of the roof, under the shingles. It helps promote the longevity of your roof by preventing water from seeping under the roof shingles and directing the water.

Yes, be aware that you may be required to assemble some pieces. For example, table bases must be attached to tabletops after delivery, and the two wings of L-desks must be connected. Check your product page and ask a furniture specialist what is required for assembly. If you expect you might be without the tools, physical ability, or know-how to assemble it, simply play it safe and select white glove delivery when purchasing to have your furniture assembled for you!
Believe it or not, plywood is essential. And this is because of seasonal wood shifting and splitting. If door and drawer panels were all made from solid wood, the seasonal movement would break the piece! Instead, heavy duty plywood with a matching finish is used where appropriate to maintain stability without risking damage to the furniture.
For distressed wood furniture, different techniques are used to create a time worn, aged appearance, or vintage look. Woodworkers use tools on the surface of the wood to create marks like pinholes, indentations and nicks that simulate decades of use.
Yes. We support the principles of Reduce, Conserve, Reuse, and Renew.
The majority of our Amish made furniture is built to order with the custom options you select.
We use lumber that is regionally sourced and selected from responsibly managed forests.
Controlling humidity, light dusting, and following simple practices for everyday use will keep your solid wood furniture looking beautiful.
A varnish is recommended and will help protect your solid wood furniture from heat as well as moisture in the air. One exception is an oiled finish which does not require varnish. An oiled finish has to be reapplied at least once a year to protect the wood.
Rough sawn lumber or rough cut lumber is a type of distressing that occurs when the wood is being cut. Saw marks and surface imperfections are man-made, offering characteristics similar to reclaimed but with a more uniform look. There’s both natural and simulated rough sawn lumber. When raw lumber is cut, the blade used can leave either a straight mark or a mark with an arch to it. Instead of planing down these marks for a smooth surface, they’re left in. This is natural rough sawn lumber. Simulated rough sawn furniture intentionally creates these marks in standard lumber to create a unique rough sawn lumber look.
The furniture will reflect the design and style on our site, but the exact look of your solid wood furniture will depend on the custom options you select. Wood, paint, and stain can change the look of a piece of furniture.
